Frequently Q&A

Questions & Answers

How Do I Get Started?

Please call any one of our instructors or email DDHA to get additional information, and book your first lesson online (please choose "Evaluation Lesson").

What Do I Wear?

Long pants and a hard shoe with a heel for safety, we really don't like tennis shoes, and thick soles are a definite no-. Boots are best. We will supply the helmet for the first couple of lessons or so, but if you are going to continue, it is a good idea that you invest in your own helmet. Bicycle helmets are not permitted.

How Much Are Lessons?

Check out our Lessons page for rates or feel free to call one of the instructors for a customized package.

How Do I pay for My Lesson?

Your first lessons are paid either individually, or for a set of 4. This allows you to "try us out." After that four, the remainder of the month will be pro—rated. Training is due before the first, in advance.

May I pay with Credit Card?

Yes, however we prefer cash or a check.

Who will Be my Instructor?

Dallas Dream Horse Academy uses a combination of Trainers, Instructors and Assistant Instructors to ensure each and every student gets the attention they deserve.

Can I pick out my Horse every time?

Probably not, we have a great team of equine-instructors and we would like you to learn what each of them has to offer.

When Can I Take my Lessons?

We try to offer lessons at times when everyone can participate. Please see our lessons page and call for availability.

What if I have to Miss a Lesson?

Please see the DDHA cancellation Policy

What Can I expect to learn?

We are more breed based with American Quarter Horses so we teach all around horsemanship in both western and English seats.

How long will it take to learn?

Riding is a wonderful sport in that you will constantly be challenged. A basic command of a horse can be obtained in a few months, however some people spend their whole lives studying this sport and improving.

Will I be good enough to compete eventually?

Absolutely, and in much less time than you might think! We will have horse shows available to attend in the future for most every level rider, once you have the basics down. With a bit more experience, you can compete with the renowned "Dream Team" show team.

What if I decide to buy a horse?

Then welcome to the wild side... Muahahaha.... No, but really we hope you do! If you fall in love with the sport, we've done our job well. We will help you find that perfect team-mate. Most of our students who own their own horses were matched up by our Dream Horse Academy Trainers.

Do you rent horses?

No, but we offer lessons, leases and sales.

Where is Dream Horse Academy Located?

Check out our map at the bottom of this page to the beautiful Double B Ranch.
